The two equations I needed to solve were LaTeX: x^{2\:}-2x-24=0x2−2x−24=0 (which needed to be solved using factoring) and LaTeX: \left(x+5\right)^2=4(x+5)2=4 (which required the use of the quadratic formula). The following are solutions to both of these dastardly situations:
