1. Read in Kansas Common Core Math Standards document-attached- pages 1-5, 9-11 and review one grade level. Share 3 things you learned when reading pages 1-5 and 9-11. What are two questions you have after reading these sections? Choose one of the grade levels and carefully review the domains, clusters, and standards. Next select either k-2 or 3-5 and explore at least one of the ready to use, online, interactive, multimedia math activities. Tell what activity you selected and how you could use it with students.

One way to catergorize questions is to describe them as open(require more deep thinking, response involves more than recalling a fact or reproducing a skill, there may be more than one correct response) or closed(simply require an answer or response from memory, such as a description or the reproduction of a skill). To emphasize problem solving, application, and the development of a variety of thinking skills it is vital to pay attention to improving our questioning in math lessons. Consider the following math questions. Tell which are open questions and which are closed questions and why you believe they are open or closed.
